The ongoing project

Sorry guys, still haven't got any paintings for you. However, I am here to tell/show you what's going on. For the past few months I've been working on the cover for a CD, along with a logo for the record company. You may remember back to November/December when I was producing posters and t-shirt designs for a musician. When I was making them, I had no idea I'd be using some of those designs. While the logo was for sure going to be used and possibly the CD cover, I wasn't sure how far it'd go. See, my boyfriend is starting a recording business and started recording this musician. You can check out his site here at: http://www.onemanarmyrecordings.com/

or 'like' his facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/OneManArmyRecordings

Well, I am excited to tell you guys that my album cover is now on iTunes! Check out Andrew Wood's single 'How High' and let me know what you think. Hopefully there will be more to come of his work. He's a really talented singer/songwriter.

Here's the entire album booklet:

And here's the new logo:

Hope you all are doing well. I keep thinking that I will be getting new paintings up here but I have yet to do anything about that... Oh well. Soon.

Do not use or copy the images above.

Photography

Hey guys! I know it's been a while. Class has been keeping me busy. I'm never taking two history classes at the same time ever again! Anyways, I haven't been painting at all the past two months (hopefully I can start again soon!), but I do have a few photographs from my photography class to show you.

This photo was for a shallow depth of field assignment.

Greater depth of field.

Stop-motion.

This is also a stop-motion picture. I didn't use it for the class but I still like this photo a lot.

So yeah, this is what I've been up to lately, that and learning how to make pottery. Once I have something finished in that class I'll post a picture for you! I know this isn't much, but it's something.

Moved out

Okay, so I need to apologize again for not being very prompt... I told you I would have these photos up last week. Better late than never, I suppose. Actually, now I'm recalling that I didn't even do a post last week, I just thought about it. Oh well. I was thinking about doing a post on what's been going on. I just moved out of my mother's house and moved into a friend's place. I thought I'd share photos of my new room and how I decorated it. It was fun, and really busy. Anyways, I'm almost completely moved in to my new place. My roommates have graciously accepted me this past week and I'm looking forward to spending more time with them.

Here are some photos of my room. It's not gorgeous by any means, but it was fun. And I got to nail things into the walls!

You might notice some of the paintings on my walls!

I also just took some fun close up photos of things around my room.

These are just some things on my desk. I'm way too excited about having one.

Okay, so this may sound a little strange, but I really like my blue nightstand that I got. Maybe because it's actually mine and I can keep it.

A tea set that a family friend brought back for me from China. She adopted two children from there. There is a calligraphy brush set at the bottom of the picture that is also from China. It was given to me by my friend, Chloe, who is one of the children (no longer a child) mentioned before.

My small stock of food for that week. Another big step into moving out - buying food.

So this last picture is one of those 'Kodak' moments. I turned around and Tashi (the cat) was curled up next to my beloved Reindoggy. She looked exactly like a stuffed animal and has become a frequent bed accessory. I just had to take a picture of her! Her name means 'Hello' in Tibetan and is probably the friendliest cat I've ever met.

So that's all. I'll probably post more pictures on here in the future. I'd like to keep this as an art blog, but I suppose our lives are masterpieces in themselves!

What I did on Break

So I want to apologize for the lack of posts this past month. I had great intentions to, however, certain situations kept me from doing so. Normally I won't post things about my life, but I feel I owe an explanation.

First reason was that finals week was probably one of the most exhausting/miserable/busy/long/frustrating week of my life. I was trying to keep up with school and the numerous projects and papers that went along with it. I was working on a project for a friend that ended terrible (in my opinion). I also had so places to be that week. With all that, I burned myself out. Emotionally. Mentally. Physically. Creatively. So, I did not paint my entire break. I just slept.

Second reason resulted in my loss of two wisdom teeth. I was out on my couch for an entire week. It took me forever to somewhat feel normal. I thought I would bounce back faster than what I did. I still can't eat crunchy food. The medication I was on caused me to sleep practically all day and it messed up my sleeping schedule, so I'm still working on that. Hopefully, my mouth won't feel sore soon. My desire to paint was completely put to rest due to two little teeth.
(I will not be posting pictures of me looking like a chipmunk)

Third reason for not painting is that I'm moving out! I've been trying to get things ready the past week or so and gradually moving my things into the house this week. I should be completely moved out by this Saturday! I'm really excited and I've been designing my new room. I'll put pictures up as soon as I'm done.

Classes start back this week. In fact, they started today. I wish I still had a little bit of break left, but I'm also kind of ready for a schedule again. I will be taking two art courses this semester and I'm looking forward to them. My first class is Photography 1. It's a good thing I bought my DSLR last year for my trip to Paris! I hope that my photography skills will improve so I can post more interesting pictures on here. I might as well add a new tab for photography too. My second art class is Life Drawing. Should be interesting.

So I hope you all had a fantastic break, and a good Christmas season. The new year looks to be an interesting one but hopefully good!
